The Betty Mitchell Awards are incredibly excited to announce that the Betty Mitchell Award has been redesigned by local glassblowing collective Bee Kingdom. Each award is a one-of-a-kind work of art made to recognize the singular and unique achievements of their recipient.
Bee Kingdom Glass, recipients of the Lieutenant Governor of Alberta Emerging Artist Award and the 2010 Avenue Magazine’s Top 40 Under 40, is made up of Ryan Marsh Fairweather, Phillip Bandura, and Tim Belliveau. The trio’s show Iconoclasts in Glass, exhibiting many of their works, is on at the Glenbow from June 7 – September 28, 2014.
